Job: Civil Site Engineer Intern

Location: Lenexa KS and Austin TX

The Civil Engineer (Site Development) Intern is responsible for assisting in the development of engineering drawings calculations and technical reports under supervision while conducting research and field investigations to support project needs. This role provides design analysis and documentation support to project engineers ensuring all work complies with established engineering standards and specific project requirements.

• Assist in preparing engineering drawings design layouts and construction documents.
• Perform basic engineering calculations for grading drainage and utilities.
• Conduct field investigations collect measurements and document site conditions.
• Prepare technical reports and design documentation for review.
• Apply established engineering standards guidelines and project requirements.
• Maintain and organize project files drawings and technical documentation.
• Participate in project meetings and coordinates assigned tasks with team members.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Pursuing BS or MS in Civil Engineering or other related field from accredited program.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Excel software is preferred
• Experience with transportation and bridge related projects or internships is preferred.
• 2.7 GPA strongly preferred
• Finished at least two years of school
• Prior Internship is and/or related experience is a plus
• Involved in campus community and other volunteer activities and/ or organization
• Strong communication skills both oral and written
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

• Ability to sit stand walk around the office for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds

• Ability to travel as needed based on job level and expertise for project site & field visits conferences training and professional outings.
• Occasional day trips or overnight travel may be required including other GBA offices.
• Must maintain a valid drivers license and an insurable driving record under the companys insurance carrier requirements to operate or rent vehicles for business purposes.
