The ideal candidate will have demonstrated capabilities in collaborating with others to perform engineering tasks within a team environment. Work experience with a privately-held company will be beneficial.

• Responsible for the civil and structural design for assigned contracts in accordance with scope schedule budget and quality requirements.
• Incorporate the use of Structural Department standards software and applicable design codes and standards in the preparation of all design assignments and proposals to meet customer specifications and code requirements.
• Ensure that all projects are completed on time within budget and in compliance with customer specifications local state and federal regulations and standards.
• Responsible for the preparation of engineering analysis and design of structural steel and reinforced concrete systems in compliance with customer specifications local state and federal regulations codes and standards.
• Responsible for the development and implementation of civil engineering plans and specifications in accordance with scope schedule budget and quality requirements.
• Ensure any variance and scope changes are acted upon and documents them in accordance with the cost and quality management process.
• Organize direct and coordinate all design assignment activities for assigned contract and proposal work in accordance with Corporate Policies Guidelines and Procedures Manual and Department requirements.
• Maintain effective communication and working relationships within the department and between departments thus promoting a cooperative team atmosphere.
• Write work scope documents and specifications coordinate and review work performed by engineering partners.
• All other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• A Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering is required. Masters degree is preferred.
• 5 years civil or structural engineering experience.
• Proficiency in heavy Industrial structural steel and foundation design.
• Strong knowledge of design and analysis methods for structural steel and reinforced concrete structures IBC ASCE AISC ACI AWS API NFPA OSHA and other applicable codes.
• Proficiency in RISA3D or similar fine element analysis-based structural analysis and design software.
• Knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD Advanced Steel Navisworks Civil 3D is preferred.

• Proficiency in site layout grading utility design erosion control regulatory approvals is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of environmental engineering grading site development hydrology stormwater management and Civil 3D is preferred.

• General business acumen

Certification and Licenses:

• Professional Engineering license or ability to obtain license within 1 year is preferred.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deal with ambiguity and competing priorities
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex engineering concepts and solutions to team members and clients.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex engineering problems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
• A commitment to continuous professional development and learning.

Essential Physical Abilities:

• Ability to sit or stand at a desk using a computer 90% of the time.
• Ability to travel 10% of the time to client sites

Compensation and Benefits

Base Pay Range: $75000 to $105000 annual pay based on skills and experience
