Job Summary
MF Professional Services Inc. (MFPS) provides human resources payroll benefits administration and operational support to mission-driven organizations. This position supports MFPS clients including Mi Familia Vota (MFV) and Mi Familia en Acción (MFA).
MFV and MFA are national Latino-led organizations dedicated to strengthening civic engagement building political power and advancing policies that support Latino communities. Their work includes voter registration voter education community organizing advocacy leadership development and issue-based campaigns.
The North Carolina Civic Engagement Manager develops and implements comprehensive year-round civic- and voter-engagement strategies throughout North Carolina.
Reporting to the North Carolina State Director this position oversees voter registration voter education Get Out the Vote youth leadership fellowship direct voter-contact and community-engagement programs. Outreach methods include canvassing phone banking text messaging digital engagement community events workshops and site-based voter registration.
The Manager supervises organizers Canvass Leads Canvassers fellows and other assigned employees. The position also develops bilingual curricula builds community partnerships manages program budgets and performance metrics supports grant reporting and collaborates with national departments.
- Latino Electoral Engagement Fellowship: Engages young adults in civic participation leadership development organizing immigrant justice and environmental justice.
- Voter Registration and Education: Provides bilingual and culturally responsive voter-registration information assistance and education.
- Get Out the Vote: Provides accurate and timely information about elections voting methods deadlines ballot access and election participation.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive year-round North Carolina civic- and voter-engagement strategy.
- Create state campaigns aligned with organizational priorities and the needs of Latino communities.
- Integrate voter registration voter education canvassing phone banking text messaging digital outreach youth engagement and community events.
- Establish program goals timelines budgets staffing plans performance measures and accountability systems.
- Maintain a current understanding of North Carolinas political electoral demographic and community landscape.
- Oversee the design implementation evaluation and improvement of assigned programs.
- Manage the Latino Electoral Engagement Fellowship and other youth leadership initiatives.
- Develop and facilitate bilingual curricula workshops trainings and leadership-development activities.
- Oversee statewide or assigned-region field operations and direct voter-contact programs.
- Develop field plans schedules scripts staffing assignments reporting requirements and quality-control standards.
- Set and monitor goals for voter contacts voter registrations phone calls text messages events and other approved activities.
- Ensure teams have appropriate turf data materials technology training transportation plans and supervisory support.
- Recruit interview onboard schedule supervise coach and retain organizers Canvass Leads Canvassers fellows and other assigned employees.
- Conduct team meetings individual check-ins field observations coaching sessions and performance reviews.
- Address performance conduct attendance scheduling and workplace concerns in coordination with the State Director and Human Resources.
- Develop and facilitate training on voter registration voter education direct voter contact data systems quality control field safety de-escalation and incident reporting.
- Ensure employees complete required training before conducting voter-registration or regulated outreach activities.
- Collaborate with Communications staff to develop culturally responsive English- and Spanish-language scripts educational materials and community messaging.
- Oversee program data collection entry quality control reporting and performance monitoring.
- Use VAN EveryAction Scale to Win spreadsheets dashboards and other approved systems.
- Train employees to use voter-contact databases and outreach tools accurately.
- Use program data to evaluate performance and make appropriate strategic or operational adjustments.
- Develop program and staffing budgets in collaboration with the State Director Finance and Development.
- Monitor program expenses budget variances grant goals deliverables and reporting requirements.
- Provide accurate program information for grant proposals reports funder updates and organizational presentations.
- Build relationships with community organizations educational institutions service providers coalitions media elected officials and civic leaders.
- Coordinate joint events workshops voter-registration activities and other approved initiatives.
- Represent MFV and MFA professionally at community meetings coalitions public events and stakeholder discussions.
- Maintain appropriate distinctions between MFAs nonpartisan activities and MFVs legally permissible advocacy or electoral activities.
- Protect confidential voter community fellow employee donor partner and organizational information.
- Work flexible mornings evenings weekends and extended campaign-style hours when required.
- Travel regularly throughout North Carolina.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- A specific degree is not required. Relevant education training campaign experience lived experience and progressively responsible professional experience will be considered.
- Experience working during at least two electoral voter-engagement organizing field or outreach campaign cycles.
- Management field-leadership or comparable supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience developing and implementing civic-engagement direct voter-contact or community-outreach strategies.
- Experience managing voter registration canvassing phone banking text messaging digital outreach or comparable programs.
- Experience recruiting scheduling training coaching supervising and motivating employees.
- Experience developing programmatic and staffing budgets.
- Experience supporting grant reporting involving goals metrics deliverables and program impact.
- Experience developing and facilitating bilingual training workshops curricula or community events.
- Experience building partnerships with community organizations media elected officials coalitions or other stakeholders.
- Experience using and training employees on VAN EveryAction Scale to Win or comparable systems.
- Conversational proficiency in English and Spanish required.
- Strong knowledge of voter engagement voter registration voter education field operations organizing and direct voter-contact methods.
- Strong supervisory coaching scheduling facilitation and team-building skills.
- Strong data-management analytical program-evaluation budgeting and project-management abilities.
- Excellent written verbal interpersonal public-speaking and cross-functional communication skills.
- Strong cultural competence and experience working respectfully with Latino communities communities of color young adults and other diverse groups.
- Ability to manage multiple programs teams campaigns priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Ability to work flexible schedules and travel regularly throughout North Carolina.
The employee must meet all eligibility appointment training and certification requirements applicable to individuals who oversee collect or submit voter-registration applications in North Carolina. Depending on applicable law this may include being registered or eligible to register to vote.
If driving is assigned the employee must maintain a valid drivers license legally required automobile insurance an acceptable driving record and access to a safe and reliable vehicle unless an organizational vehicle is provided.

This position operates in office remote field educational and community-based settings. Morning evening weekend and extended hours may be required during election cycles voter-registration deadlines fellowship activities major campaigns and other high-volume periods.
