Job Summary

Are you someone who sees what needs to happen next and helps make sure it doesCHAI is looking for a Chief of Staff to work closely with our CEO and senior leadership team across the organization. This is a hands-on role for someone who knows how to keep priorities moving bring people together and create the structure and follow-through that helps an organization work well. Reporting to the CEO the Chief of Staff will help leadership stay connected to key priorities coordinate work that crosses departments and make sure important decisions and action items dont lose looking for someone who takes initiative earns trust follows through and pays attention to whats happening across the organization. You should be comfortable bringing people together asking the right questions identifying where something needs attention and helping find a path forward. This role touches many parts of the organization including board governance strategic initiatives operations facilities administration human resources and special projects. Some days youll be preparing for a Board meeting or coordinating a project across several departments. On other days youll be working through an operational issue following up on a leadership priority or helping implement a new process. The person who succeeds in this role will be resourceful highly organized collaborative and comfortable managing competing priorities. Youll need good judgment strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with people at every level of the Youll DoSupport the CEO and senior leadership in advancing organizational priorities and strategic initiatives. Keep important projects decisions and action items moving and make sure important follow-up doesnt fall through the cracks. Support the Board of Directors and board committees including meeting preparation schedules materials minutes follow-up and effective governance process. Coordinate across departments when projects or priorities involve multiple teams. Help strengthen communication and information sharing across the organization. Coordinate strategic planning activities and help track implementation and progress on organizational priorities. Lead special projects and cross functional initiatives helping move them from idea to implementation. Prepare reports presentations and other materials to support leadership and organizational decision-making. Stay connected to day-to-day staff and operational matters and bring issues forward when appropriate. Supervise and support the HR Manager and Office identify ways to improve systems processes communication and workflow. Support the implementation of new systems processes policies and organizational ensure the office remains safe welcoming functional and well with vendors and external partners on technology facilities maintenance and other organizational support as a liaison with external partners attending and coordinating meetings materials information and follow-up as needed. Build strong working relationships with staff board members consultants vendors and other Were Looking ForSomeone who takes initiative and follows through. A strong project manager who can keep multiple priorities deadlines and people organized. Someone who sees how different parts of an organization connect and can help people work effectively across departments. Clear and effective written and verbal communication. Good judgment and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information. The ability to shift priorities when circumstances change without losing sight of what needs to be done. Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to build trust. Someone who can bring calm and clarity when there are a lot of moving pieces Someone who notices where a process or system could work better and is willing to help improve it. A collaborative service-oriented approach and a genuine interest in helping people and the organization succeed. Qualifications5 years of experience in administration project management operations organizational effectiveness or related project management skills including experience managing multiple priorities stakeholders deadlines and follow-up. Experience coordinating projects or initiatives across teams or improving systems processes policies communications or internal operationsExperience working with senior leaders board members consultants or external partners Comfort with workplace technology and curiosity about responsible ways artificial intelligence can improve efficiency communication and organizational effectivenessExcellent written and verbal communication skillsNonprofit experience is a plus Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Compensation & BenefitsThe salary range for this position is $115000$125000 annually depending on experience qualifications and demonstrated leadership ability.
