Position Overview:
As the Chief Engineer you will oversee all aspects of the maintenance and engineering operations within our organization. You will be responsible for managing the maintenance team implementing preventative maintenance programs and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all mechanical and electrical systems.
Essential Job Functions:
Maintenance Management: Supervise and coordinate the activities of the maintenance team including technicians electricians and other personnel to ensure the effective operation and upkeep of facilities and equipment.
Preventative Maintenance Programs: Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance programs for all mechanical electrical and HVAC systems including scheduling regular inspections servicing and repairs to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
Equipment Management: Oversee the maintenance and repair of all equipment and machinery within the organization including boilers HVAC systems plumbing and electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
Budget Management: Prepare and manage departmental budgets including forecasting expenses monitoring spending and identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high-quality standards and safety compliance.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and codes related to building maintenance fire safety environmental standards and occupational health and safety maintaining accurate records and documentation as required.
Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response protocols and procedures for handling equipment failures power outages and other unforeseen events ensuring minimal disruption to operations and guest services.
Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors contractors and service providers for maintenance and repair projects including obtaining quotes overseeing work performed and ensuring quality and timely completion.
Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to the maintenance team fostering a culture of collaboration accountability and continuous improvement and promoting professional development and training opportunities.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
Experience: Proven experience in a senior maintenance or engineering role preferably in the hospitality or facilities management industry with a strong background in mechanical electrical and HVAC systems.
Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team delegate tasks effectively and foster a positive work environment.
Technical Expertise: Thorough knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices including HVAC plumbing electrical and fire safety systems with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate with other departments.
Problem-Solving Ability: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues evaluate options and implement solutions to optimize performance and efficiency.
Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in maintenance planning documentation and record-keeping.
Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering Facilities Management or a related field preferred. Professional certifications or licenses may be required depending on local regulations and industry standards.
