Our Chemist is responsible for performing physical and chemical testing in support of the site Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) program. The lab operates 24 hours per day 7 days per week. This position is a third shift position M-F from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
Perform physical and chemical testing of raw material packaging material in-process and finished product in accordance with standard procedures. Approves materials and products based on test results
Participate in investigations to identify root cause and recommend corrective and preventive actions
Apply appropriate methodologies and data interpretation techniques to assist in overcoming difficulties and promote continuous improvement.
Maintain the laboratory quality assurance systems to assure validity of data and troubleshoot basic instrument problems
Perform or assist vendors in the installation qualification (IQ) operational qualification (OQ) and performance qualification (PQ) of laboratory instruments and equipment. Conducts lab verification of instruments
Use laboratory safety equipment and understand precautions in handling reagents and disposal of chemical waste according with local environmental regulations
Develop in depth knowledge of how to operate analytical instruments and other standard laboratory equipment relevant to job responsibilities
Understand and accurately follow written lab procedures global methods local methods and published standard sources
Develop in depth knowledge of how to calibrate and maintain analytical instruments and the use of analytical reference standards relevant to job description
Prepare positive release documentation including analytical lab reports and certificates of analysis
Bachelors degree in Chemistry Analytical Chemistry Biochemistry or related technical field
A minimum of 0 - 2 years experience in an Analytical lab or pharmaceutical medical device cosmetic or consumer products industries
Proven proficiency in laboratory skills with training in chemistry
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Willing to work third shift M-F
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Strong multitasking skills in a fast paced changing environment

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $64000.00 - $87500.00 USD
Pay is determined based on experience qualifications and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses profit-sharing and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including medical dental vision basic life insurance paid parental leave disability coverage and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employees hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
