Software Guidance & Assistance Inc. (SGA) is searching for a Checkpoint Firewall Operations Analyst for a contract assignment with one of our premier Utility clients in Lutz FL.
Responsibilities :
A Firewall Operations Analyst will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the firms network firewalls. This will include working tickets for firewall change requests working with projects to advise from a network security perspective and troubleshooting network issues that from a firewall perspective.

Responsibilities :
A Firewall Operations Analyst will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the firms network firewalls. This will include working tickets for firewall change requests working with projects to advise from a network security perspective and troubleshooting network issues that from a firewall perspective.
- Network/firewall troubleshooting including troubleshooting issues with Checkpoint firewalls and Cisco Routers/Switches.
- Planning engineering and implementing of firewall changes.
- Collaborating with Enterprise Architects and business partners for network security/firewall changes.
- Regular attendance of project meetings as a representative of the Firewall Operations team.
- Maintenance and support of network firewalls. Tasks including regular patching upgrades and troubleshooting of firewall hardware.
- Adherence to changing management process
- Technical writing to include documentation of firewall changes and documenting standards.
- Regular on-call rotation for firewall related issues.
- Additional responsibilities include the patching and maintenance of Checkpoint firewalls.
- Strong knowledge of Checkpoint firewalls VPN configuration/troubleshooting and network security best practices is a requirement.
- Recent experience with Checkpoint firewalls (R81.x or higher)
- Experience with routing and switching (Cisco)
- Experience with VPN setup implementation and troubleshooting. (Experience with Azure and Amazon VPNs with Checkpoint preferred)
- Experience with regulatory compliance environments (NERC preferred)
- Experience with regulatory compliance environments is preferred
