Learn more here: Spiritual Care Coordinator is responsible for the provision of spiritual care services to clients and families/caregivers of Eventide Hospice either directly or through coordination of care with other spiritual counselors. While doing so they will contribute to the physical mental emotional and spiritual well-being of clients through respectful professional competent and personable interaction. The chaplain embraces all components of the job fostering an environment that allows Eventide to provide optimum care to clients

Essential Functions

1. Assures spiritual assessment of clients and families/caregivers in the hospice program and appropriate services are rendered in a timely manner.
2. Facilitates the development of the individualized plan of care by participating in the comprehensive assessment to meet identified spiritual needs.
3. Provides direct spiritual care to clients and families/caregivers.
4. Serves as liaison and support to community chaplains and spiritual counselors.
5. Maintains records of spiritual care services utilization and related activities for quality assurance program development and policies and procedures review and revision.
6. Provides consultation education and support to the interdisciplinary group on spiritual care.
7. Provides for funeral or memorial services for clients as requested.
8. Plans periodic memorial services to meet the needs of personnel volunteers and community clergy/spiritual counselors working with the hospice team.
9. Drives from one client home to another adapting to changing road and/or weather conditions.

Ideal Candidate

• EDUCATION: Graduate of accredited seminary or school of theology (BD MDiv or equivalent theological degree) preferred.
• EXPERIENCE: Pastoral or chaplain experience required.Hospice experience preferred. Experience working with death and dying individuals/family/caregiver preferred.
• CREDENTIALS: Valid Nebraska Drivers license (unless otherwise allowed by law) and a good driving record required.
• COMMUNICATION: Must be able to speak read write and understand the English language including terminology related to the job.
• WORKSITE CONDITIONS: Sometimes works indoors in a facility maintained by Eventide that will typically be in good repair clean well ventilated and well lit. Frequently works in client homes which will vary as far as their state of repair. Frequent exposure to various road and driving conditions which are subject to change without notice.
• PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to drive vehicle from place to place gain access to each client home and then safely perform the duties of the job. Vision and hearing within normal limits (with or without correction). Must have unrestricted lift/push/pull ability of 25 - pounds demonstrating strength and agility at Eventides discretion.
• AGE REQUIREMENT: At least age 18.
