Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

NeuLife Rehabilitation of Louisiana provides post-acute rehabilitation and residential services for individuals recovering from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) and other neurological conditions. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our interdisciplinary rehabilitation this role you will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide therapeutic interventions that improve functional abilities independence with activities of daily living and overall quality of life for our clients.

• Implement individualized treatment plans under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
• Assist in evaluating patient needs and identifying functional limitations.
• Conduct therapeutic exercises activities and interventions designed to improve motor skills mobility and daily living skills.
• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and therapeutic programs.
• Monitor client progress and communicate observations to the supervising Occupational Therapist and treatment team.
• Educate clients families and caregivers on therapy techniques adaptive equipment and home exercise programs.
• Support recommendations for adaptive equipment and environmental modifications to maximize independence.
• Maintain accurate timely and compliant documentation.
• Collaborate with therapists physicians nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality client care.
• Maintain a clean organized and safe therapy environment.
• Comply with HIPAA state licensure requirements and all applicable regulatory standards.

• Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current Louisiana Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in good standing.
• Experience in neuro-rehabilitation brain injury spinal cord injury or post-acute rehabilitation preferred.
• Strong communication organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
