We Are Currently Seeking Certified Nursing AssistantsWho Are Able to Provide a Life of Possibilities.
The SPINCertified Nurses Aide (CNA) / Direct Support Professional (DSP) in the Lehigh Valley Campus enhances meaningful living based on individual choice by supporting adults through community inclusion across all settings as well as ensuring all medical needs are obtained and administered that are within the scope of their practice as defined by the Common Wealth of Pennsylvania.
Accountabilities of a Certified Nurses Aide (CNA) / Direct Support Professional (DSP):
- Provides care and support to all individuals to assure that they are safe and healthy this include but is not limited to transfers toileting bathing feeding and all personal care plus reporting any changes in level of care immediately to AD and health services.
- Care for individuals that are medically complexed including but not limited to Diabetes with blood glucose checks and insulin administration Dialysis patients Foley catheter and suprapubic tube care ostomy care oxygen C Paps Peg tubes providing care for those who are hospice.
- Using all durable medical equipment as prescribed and taught. This is including but not limited to Hoyer lift shower chair wheelchair. Reporting and malfunction or broken equipment immediately so a plan of care for safety can be implemented by Health services and residential.
- Performing body checks every shift and documenting concerns on e body and calling Ad and Health services to report and for plan of care.
- Understands and follows medication administration policy and quick mar work flow.
- Accompanies individuals to all medical appointments and therapies.
- Is an active part in promoting a healthy lifestyle overall for those we support this includes but is not limited to adhering to prescribed diet and assisting with healthier choices including promoting movement.
- Communicates positively and effectively with all team members on issues problems successes of each individual to support achievement of outcomes and assure quality service.
- Assists individual to have the best possible health by teaching skills providing supports and information on healthy lifestyles communicating all health-related issues with the Ad and Health Services
- Demonstrates knowledge of a CNA performs skills within the scope of best practices and maintains necessary certifications/licenses in accordance with the Commonwealth of PA.
- The ability to multitask prioritize and problem solve while maintaining flexibility with care and compassion.
- Support people to achieve full engagement in their community and a life a possibilities through developing connections and friendships participation in community activities employment communication self-direction independence and choice. (This is to ensure understanding on the part of the candidate as these are not typical accountabilities required of a CNA)
- Exhibit flexibility and portability in providing care to a variety of individuals in different home settings based upon the needs of those we support. (This is due to the upcoming requirements when we implement organization wide CNA opportunities/positions - transfers to different homes will be necessary based upon medical needs acute illness chronic illness etc.)

The Tools You Need:
- High School Diploma / GED;
- Certified Nurses Aide Certification with 1 years of experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a valid PA/NJ Drivers License and 1 year of driving experience
- Must be available to attend the 3 week hourly paid-training program during the hours of 8am-5pm
