Summary
We are seeking a passionate High School Tutor to join our dynamic team at SmartStart this role you will play a crucial part in shaping the educational experiences of our students fostering their academic growth and preparing them for success in a global economy.
The tutoring position begins as soon as possible and runs through the remainder of the 2026-2027 school year. Tutors must be available Monday through Friday with flexibility for 8-35 hours per week between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:30 pm and should plan to work several hours during the school day and after school as necessary within the Fairfield CT 06825 area.
Pay: $35.00/hr
*Applicants must be able to tutor ALL subjects at the high school level including but not limited to Calculus Physics Chemistry History and English.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging curriculum tailored to meet diverse student needs.
- Utilize learning technology to enhance teaching effectiveness and student engagement.
- Manage classroom environments to promote positive learning experiences.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to support student achievement.
- Provide tutoring and additional support for students requiring extra assistance.
- Plan and deliver lessons that align with educational standards and objectives.
- Assess student progress and adapt instructional strategies accordingly.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
Qualifications
- ACTIVE CT State Teaching certification is REQUIRED.
- Bachelors degree in Education or related field (Masters preferred).
- Proven experience in curriculum development and lesson planning.
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to engage diverse learners.
- Familiarity with learning technologies and their application in education.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Experience working with students with special educational needs is a plus.
