This recruitment will be used to fill 10 part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Undergraduate Learning Assistants (ULAs) for the College of Earth Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences at Oregon State University (OSU). Undergraduate Learning Assistants work with faculty and graduate teaching assistants as undergraduate peer mentors to implement active learning environments in courses in Climate Science Environmental Sciences Geography and Geospatial Science Geology and Oceanography.

Successful applicants will be contacted as positions become available. Applicants must be enrolled as degree-seeking undergraduate students atOSUfor consideration with prior coursework in Climate Science Environmental Sciences Geography and Geospatial Science Geology or Oceanography.

Position Duties

• Facilitate student engagement in active learning environments

• Prepare for facilitation by meeting with course faculty and reviewing learning materials

• Communicate with students faculty and graduate teaching assistants

• Serve as undergraduate peer learning mentors

• Participate in training and professional development for undergraduate learning assistants.
