Overview

Be part of the nations only repository for the disposal of nuclear waste known as Transuranic (TRU) waste.

Salado Isolation Mining Contractors LLC (SIMCO) managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a Central Characterization Program (CCP) Certification Managerand join our team located in Carlsbad New Mexico.

Responsibilities

The CCP Certification Manager is responsible for managing leading and developing Site Project Managers (SPMs) Waste Certification Officials (WCOs) and the Waste Certification Assistants (WCAs). In order to accomplish this a successful candidate will have an advanced knowledge of the WIPP Hazardous Waste Facility Permit (HWFP) Attachment C - Waste Analysis Plan (WAP) the WIPP Land Withdrawal Act (LWA) Transuranic Waste Authorized Methods for Payload Control (TRAMPAC) the WIPP Documented Safety Analysis (DSA) the Carlsbad Field Office (CBFO) Quality Assurance Program Document (QAPD) the WIPP Waste Acceptance Criteria (WAC) and associated Department of Energy (DOE) addition the CCP Certification Manager will interface coordinate and work with regulatory agencies including DOE New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) as well as various DOE Contractors around the United States.

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree with five (5) years of professional experience or
  • Associates degree with nine (9) years of professional experience or
  • High School Diploma or Equivalency with thirteen (13) years of professional experience is required.
  • Experience/Proficiency with Microsoft Applications is manadatory.
  • Ability to obtain a Q-Clearance.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must be authorized to work and remain in the United States without SIMCO visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the WIPP Site (even if teleworking must still be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge).
  • Non-U.S. citizens from countries identified by the Department of Energy as posing heightened security concernsincluding sensitive countries state sponsors of terrorism countries of risk and other designated countries are subject to additional security requirements that limit site access.
Preferred Requirements
  • Knowledge of DOE Order 414.1D Quality Assurance
  • Advanced Knowledge of Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA)
  • Advanced Knowledge of WIPP HWFP Attachment C
  • Advanced Knowledge of TRAMPACs
  • Advanced Knowledge of WIPP DSA
  • Advanced Knowledge of WIPP LWA
  • Advanced Knowledge of WIPP WAC
Salary Range

$96789 to $172368 per year. Exempt grade level(s) 32-34. The specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors particularly the candidates relevant experience and education.

Required Experience:

Manager
