Position Summary:
The Center for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (CEED) at Bethune Cookman Universitys College of Business and Entrepreneurship is seeking a motivated and organized Part-Time Program Coordinator. This role will focus on overseeing the operations of the Business Center including booking sessions scheduling speakers coordinating with business owners and maintaining the programs expenses and budget. The ideal candidate will have a passion for entrepreneurship and economic development coupled with strong administrative financial and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Business Center Management: Oversee daily operations of the Business Center ensuring that it is a productive and resourceful environment for students faculty and entrepreneurs.
  • Session Coordination: Book and schedule sessions workshops and events for the Business Center ensuring smooth operations and proper resource allocation.
  • Speaker and Business Owner Scheduling: Coordinate with guest speakers business owners and industry experts to participate in CEED programs ensuring alignment with the centers goals and educational objectives.
  • Outreach and Communication: Build and maintain relationships with local businesses entrepreneurs and the broader community to support program initiatives and opportunities for collaboration.
  • Event Planning: Assist in planning and executing events such as seminars panels and networking events related to entrepreneurship and economic development.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support including managing calendars preparing reports and handling correspondence related to CEED programs.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Work with the marketing team to promote events and programs through various channels including social media newsletters and university communications.
  • Program Budget Management: Maintain and monitor the programs expenses and budget ensuring that all financial activities are within approved limits. Prepare financial reports and assist in budget planning.
  • Expense Tracking: Track and process expenses related to events guest speakers supplies and other program activities ensuring timely and accurate financial record-keeping.
  • Program Evaluation: Assist in tracking program metrics and outcomes ensuring the effectiveness of CEED initiatives and identifying areas for improvement.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in business entrepreneurship finance or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in program coordination event planning financial management or a related administrative role preferably within an educational or nonprofit setting.
Skills:
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite financial management software and other relevant tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of entrepreneurship and economic development principles is a plus.
  • Strong financial management and budgeting skills.
Work Hours:
  • Part-time 20-25 hours per week. Flexible scheduling is available but some evening and weekend hours may be required depending on event schedules.
