Position Scope:

Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operational excellence. As a CDL Driver you are expected to communicate on a daily basis with multiple levels of Company personnel and most importantly with external customers. Performs work in the setting of a Company truck with exposure to weather conditions and various customer locations. Major challenges involves on time delivery of products to customers while complying with various state and Federal laws and regulations such as DOT regulations etc.

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: One year driving experience and product delivery required to perform the job. Specific on the job training is provided.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Possess and maintain a valid CDL drivers license.
  • Previous employment checks must be acceptable.
  • Basic reading writing and math skills.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.

Essential Functions:

  1. Receive and understand instructions from Dispatcher Shipping Supervisor and external customers.
  2. Must maintain highest respect of the customer and meeting their needs.
  3. Ability to communicate and relay information to others.
  4. Possess and maintain a clean MVR within Companys guidelines.
  5. Properly follow administrative procedures regarding billing and manifest paperwork.
  6. Transport and deliver materials and services per customer requirements.
  7. Know understand and maintain compliance to all State and Federal DOT rules and regulations governing the operation of tractor trailers and transportation of Company products and materials.
  8. Driver needs to be able to drive manual/automatic.
  9. Report conditions that may affect the operations of the trucks and trailers.
  10. Maintain accurate DOT Logs.
  11. Deliver product as scheduled.
  12. Assist in loading and unloading.
  13. Lifting more than 75 lbs.
  14. Required to perform checks to equipment and/or vehicle used at start during and end of use.
  15. Fueling and checking of equipments fluid levels required of unit or units used.
  16. Note any errors or customer concerns to Company management as soon as practical
