Job Summary
The Carpenter is responsible for skilled woodworking and construction tasks including building installing and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials. This role involves reading and following blueprints measuring and cutting materials with precision constructing framework for buildings installing elements like doors windows and cabinets and ensuring all work meets quality standards and building codes. The Carpenter works both independently and as part of a team using various hand and power tools to complete projects efficiently and safely.
KPIs and Activities Owned:
- Execute quality carpentry work on residential and commercial projects
- Work on new constructions additions and remodeling projects
- Install various architectural components and building materials
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Maintain tools and equipment
- Follow safety protocols
- Work effectively with project teams
- Ensure quality control and project specifications are met
Actions and Goals:
CARPENTRY EXECUTION:
- Execute carpentry work according to blueprints drawings and specifications with precision and quality.
- Plan and prepare job layouts using measuring tools following architectural plans and drawings.
- Construct install and repair structural woodwork and related materials in buildings.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area ensuring tools and materials are properly stored.
PROJECT LOGISTICS:
- Assess material needs and assist in creating detailed material lists for projects.
- Properly handle and store building materials to prevent damage and waste.
- Organize work area and materials for maximum efficiency.
- Maintain inventory of necessary supplies and tools.
DOCUMENTATION AND REPORTING:
- Document daily progress and completed work tasks.
- Report any project challenges or safety concerns immediately to supervisor.
- Track material usage and waste for project documentation.
- Photograph completed work for project records.
RESOURCE MANAGEMENT:
- Efficiently manage and maintain assigned tools and equipment.
- Coordinate with team members to share resources effectively.
- Plan material usage to minimize waste and optimize efficiency.
QUALITY CONTROL:
- Perform quality checks on all completed work.
- Ensure all work meets building codes and safety standards.
- Maintain high standards of craftsmanship in all tasks.
- Identify and correct any deficiencies in workmanship.
TEAM COLLABORATION:
- Work effectively with other trades to coordinate tasks and timing.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors about project progress and needs.
- Mentor and guide less experienced team members when appropriate.
PROJECT COMPLETION
- Complete punch list items efficiently and thoroughly.
- Perform final quality checks on all completed work.
- Clean up work areas thoroughly upon project completion.
- Ensure all tools and materials are properly stored or removed.
