Schedule:
- MondayThursday: 2:00 PM 6:00 PM
- Friday: 7:30 AM 5:30 PM
- Additional full-day coverage may be needed during school breaks and summer months.
We are seeking a dependable compassionate and energetic Caregiver/Nanny to provide after-school care for a teenage individual with autism. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships encouraging independence and creating a safe engaging environment.
The ideal candidate is patient reliable and enjoys staying active through community outings and recreational activities. Previous experience working with individuals with autism or special needs is preferred but not requiredwe value the right attitude willingness to learn and genuine compassion above all else.
- Meet the individual at the school bus after school.
- Provide attentive supervision in a safe and supportive environment.
- Prepare healthy snacks and simple meals.
- Assist with light dinner preparation when needed.
- Plan and participate in community outings and recreational activities including parks bowling walks and other outdoor activities.
- Encourage social interaction independence and engagement in daily routines.
- Maintain open communication with the family regarding daily activities and any concerns.
- Provide companionship while respecting established routines and preferences.
- Perform light housekeeping related to caregiving duties including cleaning up after meals and activities
- Caring patient and dependable personality.
- Positive attitude and strong communication skills.
- Reliable transportation and a valid drivers license.
- Comfortable with pets.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Previous caregiving nanny childcare or special needs experience is a plus but not required.
- Ability to build trust and establish a consistent routine.
- Ability to safely accompany the individual on community outings and activities.
- Experience supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or developmental disabilities.
- Ability to remain calm and patient in various situations.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Comfortable encouraging independence while providing appropriate support.
- Ability to stand walk and participate in recreational activities.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds if needed.
- Ability to safely assist with transportation to community activities as required.
