Job Summary

The Arbor at Berkeley is seeking skilled and compassionate Caregivers to serve their residents. Currently part-time DAY shift opportunities (6:00 am-2:00 pm) with an option to move to full-time within 90 days. A qualified candidate can expect a wage of $21.00-22.00/hour plus full-time benefits. Job posting will remain open until all positions are filled.

The ideal candidate is attentive patient professional and committed to delivering excellent care and customer service to seniors.

Position Summary

The Caregiver is responsible for supporting residents with personal care daily routines mobility dining assistance observation and overall comfort. This role also helps maintain a safe and welcoming environment communicates changes in resident condition and works closely with the nursing and leadership team to ensure quality care.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing dressing grooming toileting oral care and hygiene

  • Help residents with mobility transfers repositioning and transportation throughout the community

  • Support residents during meals including set-up encouragement and after-meal assistance

  • Observe residents closely and promptly report changes in condition incidents injuries or concerns to the nurse or supervisor

  • Answer call lights and check on residents regularly to ensure needs are being met

  • Maintain accurate documentation flow sheets and care-related records as assigned

  • Help prepare rooms for new residents and assist with admissions transfers and discharges

  • Support a clean calm respectful and positive living environment for residents

  • Follow community policies related to infection control safety confidentiality resident rights and abuse reporting

  • Use only the equipment and care techniques you have been trained and authorized to perform

  • Work collaboratively with coworkers and other departments to provide excellent resident care and service

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Prior caregiving experience in senior living assisted living memory care skilled nursing or healthcare preferred

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to remain calm respectful and professional in a fast-paced care environment

  • Must be reliable punctual and able to follow direction and community procedures

  • Ability to document clearly and accurately

  • Must maintain resident confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand walk bend lift reposition and assist residents throughout the shift

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

  • Ability to perform physically active work in a caregiving environment
