Description:
Position overview

Scrubs and gowns for surgery to assist the cardiologist in all aspects of invasive cardiovascular procedures. Performs a variety of specialized and complex invasive and non-invasive cardiovascular procedures. Assists the cardiologist in all surgical and diagnostic procedures. Prepares patients and assists in monitoring the patients condition during invasive cardiovascular procedures.

REQUIRED EDUCATION EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE

1. Associates degree or equivalent combination of experience and education in Cardiovascular Technology or related field required.

2. RCIS/RCES (CCI) or CI (ARRT) certification preferred.

3. BLS/ACLS Required.

4. Must be available to respond to cath lab within 30 minutes when on call.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

1. Ability to recognize normal and abnormal ECG rhythms ischemia and infarction patterns.

2. Understands basic concepts in aseptic technique.

3. Strong written and oral communication skills.

4. Must have strong organizational skills and able to prioritize.

5. Positive team player.

6. Has both team-building and leadership skills.

7. Critical thinking aptitude.

8. Mechanical/mathematical aptitude needed for calibration and operation of equipment.

9. Ability to interpret medical technology.

10. Knowledge of potential radiation hazards and appropriate safety practices and procedures.

11. Manual dexterity to assist during invasive procedures.

12. Analytical and clinical ability to monitor patient condition during cardiac procedure.
