In the summer of 2021 Repsol expanded its renewables operations to the U.S. through the acquisition of a large U.S.-based PV solar and battery storage project 2024 Repsol made another strategic acquisition of ConnectGen from Quantum Capital Group. Repsol Renewables Services North America (RRSNA) is targeting to own and operate 3-4 GW of renewable capacity in North America by 2027.

We are seeking a motivated detail-oriented and professional Capital Equipment Procurement Intern to join our Procurement team for our summer internship program.

This internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting the sourcing purchasing and management of capital equipment utilized in renewable energy construction and operations projects. The selected candidate will work closely with Procurement Engineering Construction and Project Management teams to support strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier relationships.

This is a twelve (12) week program starting May 17 2027 through August 6 2027 located in Downtown Houston.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Procurement team in sourcing and procuring capital equipment including construction operational and technical equipment required for renewable energy projects.
  • Assist with the development and execution of sourcing strategies for major equipment purchases and long-lead items.
  • Conduct market research to identify qualified equipment manufacturers suppliers and service providers.
  • Assist in the preparation distribution and evaluation of Requests for Proposal (RFPs) Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and bid packages.
  • Analyze supplier quotations and support commercial evaluations and recommendations.
  • Help maintain supplier databases pricing information and procurement documentation.
  • Assist with purchase order creation tracking and delivery coordination to support project schedules.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Construction teams to ensure equipment specifications align with project requirements.
  • Participate in supplier meetings negotiations and performance review discussions.
  • Support contract administration activities and assist in monitoring vendor compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Prepare reports and presentations related to procurement activities supplier performance and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and support continuous improvement efforts within the Procurement function.

Requirements:

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without sponsorship.
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Supply Chain Management Business Engineering Construction Management Operations Management or a related field.
  • Strong interest in procurement supply chain management capital projects or renewable energy industries.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel PowerPoint and Word.
  • Familiarity with ERP and procurement systems such as SAP Ariba Oracle or similar platforms is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of procurement principles sourcing processes or contract management is a plus.
  • Availability to travel occasionally if required.
