Job Description:

Campus: Americus

Maintains security and order on the South Georgia Technical College campus. Patrols and monitors buildings and campus grounds to prevent and detect security concerns unauthorized access and other suspicious activity. Monitors and authorizes the entrance and departure of employees students visitors and other individuals.

Responds to alarms disturbances criminal complaints vehicle accidents fires natural disasters and other emergency or hazardous situations. Inspects assigned areas for fire safety or environmental hazards and ensures doors windows gates and other access points are secure.

Enforces college rules and regulations provides security for campus events documents incidents and daily activities prepares required reports and performs other assigned duties.

High school diploma or GED required.

• Ability to differentiate between colors.
• Ability to work effectively with others.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work nights weekends mornings and other assigned shifts as needed.
• Must possess a valid drivers license.

Previous experience in security safety monitoring law enforcement or the military is preferred.

This is a shift position. Candidates must be available to work different shifts on different days based on departmental needs including:

• 7:00 a.m. 3:00 p.m.
• 3:00 p.m. 11:00 p.m.
• 11:00 p.m. 7:00 a.m.

Candidates must be able and willing to work any of the above shifts including days evenings nights weekends and holidays as scheduled.

This is a part-time temporary position and will not exceed 25 hours per week.

Candidates must successfully complete:

• Criminal background check
• Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check
• Drug screening

$18.00 per hour

This is a part-time temporary position up to 25 hours per week.

This position does not include State of Georgia benefits and does not guarantee or imply future full-time employment.
