This position works out of our Madison WI location in the Cancer Diagnostics division.

Position Overview

The Calibration Lab Technician III is responsible for performing calibration maintenance and repair on a variety of equipment sent into the calibration lab (e.g. pipettes (single & multi-channel) bottle top dispensers load cells masses timers temperature measuring equipment etc.). This role will demonstrate a high level of organization the ability to multitask and build trust with internal and external customers.

Shift: Monday Friday 8:00am 5:00pm

What Youll Work On

  • Perform calibrations and adjustments in accordance with approved standard procedures.

  • Clean repair and calibrate pipetting devices.

  • Document the calibration and preparation of calibration reports.

  • Maintain equipment data in a CMMS database.

  • Maintain tools equipment and parts inventory.

  • Ability to frequently and accurately communicate with employees customers and vendors in person via the telephone or by email.

  • Strong documentation skills and attention to detail necessary in a GMP regulated environment.

  • Ability to work effectively in team situations as well as independently.

  • Ability to interact coordinate and communicate effectively with internal staff and external vendors.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work using constant walking or motion to coordinate work and interact with co-workers.

  • Ability to work designated schedule.

  • Ability to work nights and/or weekends.

  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds for approximately 10% of a typical working day.

  • Ability to work on a mobile device tablet or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.

  • Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.

  • Ability to use various types of laboratory equipment including pipettes and balances for extended periods of time.

  • May be exposed to hazardous materials tissue specimens and instruments with moving parts lasers heating and freezing elements and high-speed centrifugation.

  • Ability and means to travel between local Exact Sciences locations.

  • Ability to travel 10% of working time away from work location may include overnight/weekend travel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Electronics Molecular Biology or related field; or Associates degree and 2 years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties; or high school degree/general education diploma (GED) and 4 years of maintenance repair calibration of equipment or relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties in lieu of bachelors degree.

  • 1 years of experience in any of the following:

    • Pipette calibration

    • Calibration maintenance and/or repair of equipment in a biotech manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with equipment qualification.

  • Experience in pipette calibration and repair.

  • Experience working in a regulated environment specifically under FDA ISO CAP and/or CLIA

  • Knowledge of ISO 17025:2005 and 21 CFR Part 820 requirements related to inspection measuring and test equipment.

The base pay for this position is

$18.45 $36.85/hour
