CADCAM Design Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking a CAD/CAM Design Engineer in Chandler Arizona for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will develop and review mechanical design packages 3D models and parametric drawings for complex aerospace hardware. The engineer will work extensively in Siemens NX and Teamcenter while applying GD&T and ASME drawing standards to ensure designs meet fit function manufacturability and fabrication requirements.

• Experience using Siemens NX CATIA or another comparable 3D CAD system.
• Strong Siemens NX experience preferably NX 2412.
• Experience with Teamcenter or a comparable Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
• Strong working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience creating and reviewing detailed mechanical drawings.
• Experience developing fully defined 3D component and assembly models.
• Experience creating and revising parametric engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of ASME 3D modeling and drawing standards.
• Experience reviewing designs for fit function manufacturability and fabrication feasibility.
• Experience performing or reviewing tolerance analyses.
• Experience reviewing hardware selection and component fitment on assembly drawings.
• Ability to resolve GD&T and drawing-interpretation issues.
• Experience verifying 3D models prior to manufacturing release.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work accurately under schedule pressure.
• U.S. citizenship required.

• Create and review mechanical drawing and design packages.
• Develop fully defined components and assemblies using Siemens NX.
• Manage design data and models within Teamcenter.
• Create and revise parametric drawings in accordance with ASME standards.
• Verify completed drawings for dimensions materials quantities and technical accuracy.
• Review designs for fit function manufacturability and cost-effective fabrication.
• Perform and review tolerance analyses.
• Apply and interpret GD&T requirements.
• Verify hardware selection and component fitment on assembly drawings.
• Review 3D models submitted for manufacturing.
• Coordinate with mechanical engineering manufacturing quality and other technical disciplines.
• Work with suppliers as needed to resolve design and manufacturing issues.
• Support resolution of drawing model and configuration questions.
• Provide technical direction to other staff when assigned.
• Complete design assignments accurately within established project schedules.

• Full-time onsite in Chandler Arizona.
• 9/80 work schedule.

• $48.59 per hour.
