Together we are Building A Better the Role: The Buyer is responsible for managing customer-directed suppliers and purchased components across the following commodities: Chassis and Suspension Brake Systems Powertrain Steering Systems and Tire and Wheel. This position oversees day-to-day purchasing activities for directed-buy suppliers. Key responsibilities include purchase-order administration pricing management program and launch support engineering-change coordination supplier communication commercial issue resolution and maintenance of accurate purchasing Buyer will work closely with customers suppliers Engineering Quality Program Management Manufacturing Supply Chain Finance and other cross-functional partners to ensure that purchased components meet program timing production quality delivery and commercial AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage purchasing activities for customer-directed suppliers supporting chassis and suspension brake powertrain steering and tire and wheel as the primary purchasing contact for assigned and maintain purchase orders pricing agreements tooling orders and other purchasing purchase orders accurately reflect approved pricing quantities delivery requirements payment terms freight terms tooling and applicable commercial accurate supplier pricing part tooling and contractual information within the companys purchasing and ERP with customers and internal teams to obtain and maintain directed-buy documentation customer pricing agreements sourcing direction and program customer-directed pricing and supplier quotations to confirm alignment with approved commercial and resolve discrepancies involving customer-directed pricing supplier pricing purchase orders invoices tooling freight and other commercial and document pricing changes including supporting approvals effective dates recovery mechanisms and customer-directed new program launches by monitoring supplier timing tooling capacity part readiness validation PPAP and production in program reviews launch meetings supplier reviews and cross-functional status purchasing activities related to engineering changes including supplier communication quotation follow-up timing tooling pricing implementation dates and purchase-order commercial changes are properly documented and approved before prototype pre-production launch service and ongoing production requirements for assigned supplier risks that could affect production program timing quality cost or customer with internal stakeholders and suppliers to resolve invoicing payment receiving quantity pricing and purchase-order appropriate records and documentation to support internal controls customer requirements audits and purchasing and report purchasing metrics open commercial issues program risks pricing changes supplier performance and launch and maintain effective working relationships with customer representatives directed suppliers and internal cross-functional purchasing activities comply with company policies ethical standards contractual obligations customer requirements and applicable continuous improvement initiatives within the Purchasing other duties as You Need To Be Successful:Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Business Administration Engineering Finance or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be least three years of experience in automotive purchasing supply chain program or supplier managing purchase orders supplier pricing commercial documentation and purchasing system supporting automotive production programs or new product knowledge of automotive purchasing quality engineering change and launch processes. Strong supplier-management of customer-directed purchasing relationships and the responsibilities of the customer supplier and Tier 1 to manage pricing and commercial requirements when supplier selection is controlled by the knowledge of automotive program launches engineering changes purchase orders tooling and supplier-management to interpret quotations purchase orders bills of material technical specifications and commercial analytical and problem-solving to identify pricing discrepancies commercial risks and gaps in purchasing written and verbal communication to communicate effectively with customers suppliers leadership and cross-functional organization prioritization follow-up and project-management to manage multiple suppliers programs and competing priorities in a fast-paced judgment and the ability to make timely fact-based level of accuracy accountability professionalism and attention to in Microsoft Excel PowerPoint Word and ERP to work independently while contributing effectively within a cross-functional to work in the United States without current or future visa Points If You Have:Five or more years of automotive direct-material purchasing purchasing experience with one or more of the following commodities: Chassis and Suspension Brake Systems Powertrain Steering Systems Tire and managing customer-directed-buy with safety-critical or highly engineered automotive managing engineering changes tooling pricing changes commercial recoveries and supplier with APQP PPAP IATF 16949 AIAG requirements and automotive customer-specific with strategic sourcing RFQs quotation analysis or negotiations that could support future sourcing purchasing or supply-chain certification such as CPSM CPM or :High School diploma Experience: 3 years of experience in materials material follow up analysis and/or complianceTravel: Travel is required potentially up to 30% depending on business Buyer must be available to visit suppliers manufacturing facilities customer locations and company -site support may be required during program launches supplier assessments capacity reviews production disruptions quality concerns or supplier We Offer:We believe our team members are our greatest investment which is why we offer a competitive total rewards package designed to support you at every stage of your career and life.
