Job Summary

BUSSER JOB SUMMARY

The Busser is responsible for: (1) helping to ensure guests receive excellent guest service by delivering food orders from the kitchen to guest tables quickly and accurately (2) cleaning and resetting tables after guests leave the restaurant (3) ensuring the restaurant is stocked with clean silverware plates and glasses (4) supporting servers table service as directed by the servers and MOD and (5) maintaining the overall cleanliness of the restaurant and server stations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain a positive high well-balanced energy level throughout the entire shift

Have strong interpersonal communication skills in order to greet guests answer guest questions and address guest concerns in a warm professional and accommodating manner

Exhibit consistently dependable reliable punctual and trustworthy conduct

Provide exemplary guest service on a consistent basis

Complete any and all assigned cleaning duties including stocking and organization

Perform all assigned side-work quickly and efficiently

Properly set up and break down stations before and after operating hours

Expediter/Food Runner Responsibilities

Ensure all plates are prepared and garnished correctly before delivering to tables

Ensure guests have everything they need on the table including proper silverware napkins and share plates when delivering food

Work with servers and BOH to quickly correct any guest concerns regarding food orders quality and presentation

Keep expo station clean organized and well stocked

Ensure all utensils are polished and well stocked

Assist all servers bartenders and managers with carrying of plates

Communicate food orders to BOH employees paying attention to priority tickets allergies and special requests

Busser Responsibilities

Clean and reset tables after guests leave the restaurant

Remove dirty utensils and replenish as needed

Ensure the restaurant is stocked with clean silverware plates and glassware

Keep service stations clean

Assist servers with food delivery and other table service duties as directed by the servers and MOD

Take out trash

Bring bus tubs back to the kitchen when they are full

Move tables chairs and furniture to accommodate guests as needed

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE SKILL AND ABILITY

Knowledge of Teamwork and Toast POS system

Ability to read write and speak the English language to interact with guests the public and coworkers

Proficient verbal communication skills

Ability to work under pressure and professionally deal with stressful situations during busy periods in a loud busy and crowded environment

Strong interpersonal skills to provide overall guest satisfaction

Must have strong knowledge of food menus

Must have the ability to carry multiple plates at one time sometimes using a large tray and tray jack

Knowledge of proper food handling requirements

Knowledge of bar and kitchen items

Basic mathematical skills

Knowledge of daily maintenance and cleaning of venue

Must have knowledge of all required legal documents i.e. A.B.C. Health Department Police City Etc.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Education

High School Diploma or GED equivalent optional

Experience

Minimum of one years experience in a fast-paced restaurant/bar

Age

Must be at least 16 years old to meet minimum age requirement of the State of Tennessee to work evening hours. Employees younger than 18 are not allowed to serve alcohol and can only work three hours per day and until 10 PM on school nights which are generally Sunday through Thursday. Employees under the age of 18 are not allowed behind the bar.

Licenses or Certificates

ServSafe Certification

ABC Server Permit

CPR certification and/or First Aid training preferred

GROOMING

All employees must wear the proper uniform and maintain a neat clean and well-groomed appearance in accordance with the Companys grooming standards. This policy is implemented in compliance with the Companys obligations related to accommodating religious beliefs and practices medical conditions and disabilities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Must be able to work in an environment with constantly elevated temperatures

Must be able to work and move quickly in a tight-space environment in a safe manner without disrupting other employees

Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

OTHER

COMPENSATION: $10.00 PER HOUR PLUS TIPS
