Business Performance Analyst Power BI

Location: Oakland CA

Onsite Flexibility: Hybrid required on-site per business needs 45 times a month at Oakland GO and flexible with other locations in the service territory

• Equipment Provided: Laptop and cell phone will be provided. Any additional equipment to be provided by supplier. With HM prior approval a pre-determined amount for internet can be expensed monthly.

The Business Performance Analyst Seniors primary function will be to create weekly and monthly performance metrics dashboards and streamline reporting of results for the Materials organization. The Business Performance Analyst Senior will implement and maintain custom data and analytic reporting to provide insight into and facilitate day-to-day operations. He/She will evolve the role to lead clients from simple pre-existing business intelligence solutions to forward-looking whats next capabilities using more advanced predictive and prescriptive tools. The successful candidate will work across functional teams and partner with peers and leaders on process change implementation and ongoing measurement and reporting.

• Facilitates the development of weekly and monthly metrics reporting related to organizational performance
• Collects data to identify root cause of problems on performances and implements solutions for improvements
• Aligns improvement to performance shortfalls; surveys and analyzes best practices for techniques processes and implementation
• Determines data needs collects data selects from different analytical techniques to conduct root cause analysis determine issues designs and maintains operational tools and reports
• Projects are moderately to highly complex and require selecting methods approaches and tactics to resolve problems and obtain solutions
• Creates analysis that accurately describes the state of the business
• Creates complex and automated data routines and processes for reporting and data delivery ensuring accurate data transformation
• Design data analysis to achieve business objectives process data analyze data write clear and concise data findings using power queries and Power BI reporting
• Applies judgment to solve problems of diverse scope
• Typically receives general instructions on new assignments or projects; receives little instruction on recurring assignments
• May assist in coaching and developing less experienced staff and end users
• Understands business process needs and develops solutions

• Advanced in Microsoft BI stack including Power Pivot Power View Power BI Power Platform and Power Automate
• Experience with metrics/dashboard creation reporting and demonstrated experience in data visualization best practices using Power BI
• Advanced problem-solving skills and data analysis skills
• Business Systems SAP
• Advanced Excel skills (Power Pivots & Tables V Look up etc.)
• Advanced in MS Excel/Access/PowerPoint
• Experience working with data stored across multiple databases/data sources
• Advanced statistical modeling and process improvement knowledge
• Advanced reporting knowledge and experience with multiple reporting tools
• Demonstrated experience in data visualization best practices using Power BI
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to keep pace and contribute to a high-performing team
• Self-starter
• Familiarity with utility operations

• MBA or other advanced degrees
• Lean Six Sigma green belt

• BA/BS in Business Engineering Construction Management or Computer Science/Information required
• Valid drivers license required
