Job Summary

The Business Operations Analyst in the Office of Data and Analytics (ODA) develops and carries out business operations best practices for the department. The role improves team efficiency and productivity supports the quality of ODA data products and works with the Office of Performance Excellence on strategic planning and KPI tracking. It also advises on relationship management between ODA and other divisions and may support other ODA projects as needed.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end data mapping across assigned data sources and reporting layers
  • Document business definitions transformation logic and data lineage
  • Coordinate with data owners and stewards to resolve conflicts in definitions
  • Identify workflow issues and propose solutions
  • Implement data quality rules track exceptions and monitor remediation activities
  • Maintain metadata and glossary entries in the data catalog
  • Develop standard operating procedures for change control and the data-mapping lifecycle
  • Produce status reports and governance scorecards
  • Create training materials and train team members on them
  • Track and audit purchase order expenditures to identify variances and support operational planning
  • Review and audit financial data to ensure accuracy and keep work within budget limits
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Experience
  • 3 to 5 years of directly applicable experience in business operations and/or data analytics
  • Demonstrated experience using data visualization tools to create compelling visualizations
  • Experience with data lineage tools and methods (highly desired)

Eligibility and Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university in business or management or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work in a team environment with multiple and fluid demands
  • Ability to maintain professional working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Personal and professional integrity with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to accept critical feedback and adjust approaches accordingly
