Business Intelligence Engineer II, Middle Mile Planning & Optimization

Amazons Middle Mile Transportation Technology team is chartered with building complex software solutions that work across our vendors warehouses and carriers to optimize both time & cost of getting the packages delivered. Our services already handle thousands of requests per second make business decisions impacting billions of dollars a year integrate with a network of small and large carriers owner operators and drivers worldwide manage business rules for millions of unique products and improve ordering and delivery experience for millions of online shoppers.

As part of this team you will work with executive leaders engineering science and operations stakeholders to drive process improvement generate ideas validate entitlement and then produce a path to production. Youll work in a fast-paced environment and will be required to lead not only at the strategic level but also tactically day-to-day by diving deeply into business and technical domains. As a multi-discipline leader the buck will stop with you - you will work as part of the engineering organization.

Key job responsibilities
- Generate insightful analysis reporting and data visualizations to answer critical business questions proactively identify notable trends and communicate business performance
- Translate data into actionable insights for stakeholders while proactively identifying new areas of opportunity to drive further improvements
- Apply expertise in data mining and modeling leveraging multiple data sources to uncover unique insights identify key performance drivers and build predictive models
- Work backwards from your end-customer to define design and execute each work item with an emphasis on improved metrics productivity and efficiency
- Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity test design analysis validation and documentation

- Bachelors degree in BI finance engineering statistics computer science mathematics finance or equivalent quantitative field
- 3 years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift Oracle NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau Quicksight or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R SAS and Matlab
- Experience using Python scripting to process data for modeling
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2 DynamoDB S3 and Redshift
- Experience developing deploying and managing AI products at scale

- Masters degree in BI finance engineering statistics computer science mathematics finance or equivalent quantitative field
- 5 years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift Oracle NoSQL etc. experience
- Knowledge of advanced skills in Excel as well as any data visualization tools like Tableau or similar BI tools (familiarity with Tableau preferred)
- Experience in data mining ETL etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale complex datasets
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Experience managing analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
