As a Bus Driver at GISD you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students during their transportation to and from school and community programs. Youll provide safe timely and efficient transportation services while fostering positive interactions with students parents/guardians and staff. This position requires a commitment to student safety adherence to state and district transportation policies and consistent modeling of GISDs Win-Win leadership values.

No CDL yet Well help you get there. GISD offers paid training to help you earn your Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with full support from our transportation team. Youll be paid while you train and once certified youll step into a meaningful role with competitive pay and benefits.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Michigan Drivers License with a preference for no points.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with B classification including P (Passenger) S (School Bus) and air brake endorsements.
• Must pass a physical examination and drug test.
• Demonstrated ability to lift move and assist students up to 26 years of age and perform essential job duties safely and effectively.

Pay Range:$19.50-$24.00 per hour based on experience

Work Schedule: Full-time hours and 185 to 206 days per year dependent on assigned route.

Paid Time Off:

• Sick and Personal Business paid time up to 12 days
• Bereavement Leave
