Job Summary:
The Plumbing Inspector conducts tradespecific inspections of plumbing systems on datacenter projects throughout the Amarillo region and surrounding Texas counties. The role ensures that new construction upgrades and existing facilities comply with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) / Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC) Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners regulations and any clientspecific standards. Responsibilities include plan review field inspections documentation problem resolution and supporting businessdevelopment activities. Travel to multiple sites is required.

Plan Review & Code Interpretation
Examine construction drawings specifications and singleline diagrams for plumbing systems (water supply drainage firesuppression condensate and gas) to verify compliance with IPC/UPC Texas plumbing codes and client datacenter standards.
Field Inspections
Perform onsite inspections of:
o Waterdistribution piping pressurereducing valves and backflow preventers
o Drainage vent and wastewater systems
o Firesuppression (e.g. preaction FM200 CO₂) and sprinkler wetpipe systems
o Condensate and coolingtower plumbing
o Mechanicalroom plumbing (boilers chillers UPS battery rooms)
QualityControl (QA/QC) Oversight
Verify that contractors follow approved plans qualitycontrol checklists and industry best practices; identify deviations and recommend corrective actions.
Report Preparation & Documentation
Generate written and electronic inspection reports issue Notices of Correction (NoCs) and maintain accurate inspection logs and photographic records in the compliance database.
Stakeholder Communication
Explain code requirements corrective actions and qualitycontrol expectations to owners contractors and the public in clear professional language.
Problem Solving & Issue Resolution
Recognize unique or complex plumbing challenges evaluate alternatives and provide technically sound solutions while exercising sound judgment.
CustomerService Relationship Management
Maintain effective courteous relationships with clients contractors and internal teams; respond promptly to inquiries and service requests.
BusinessDevelopment Support
Assist the inspection management team with outreach permitprocessing assistance and proposal preparation for new datacenter projects.
Administrative & Office Tasks
Perform routine office duties such as data entry filing of inspection records and updating of compliance software.
Other Duties
Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Manager to meet departmental objectives.

Education Certifications and Experience (required)
Education
High school diploma or GED (minimum)
Associate degree in Plumbing Technology Mechanical Engineering Construction Management or related field (preferred).
Experience
Minimum 2years of journeylevel experience in one or more of the following:
o Municipal or county plumbing inspection services
o Commercial/industrial plumbing construction (especially datacenter or highavailability facilities)
o Plumbing contracting or QA/QC roles
o Demonstrated ability to read and interpret plumbing drawings specifications and codecompliant details.
Licenses & Certifications
Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners Valid Plumbing Inspector license or Master/Journeyman plumber license (must be current).
ICC (International Code Council) or equivalent certification in Plumbing (mandatory).
Additional multidiscipline certifications (e.g. firesuppression medicalgas) are a plus.
Other
Valid Texas drivers license (required).
OSHA 30hour construction safety certification (preferred).
Physical and Environmental Conditions

Work Setting Primarily fieldbased within datacenter facilities; limited office time. Exposure to a full spectrum of weather conditions when traveling between sites.
Physical Demands Frequent use of hands for handling tools meters and equipment; climbing ladders or scaffolding; stooping kneeling crouching and occasional crawling in tight mechanical rooms.
Mobility Ability to walk stand and balance on uneven or raised surfaces; occasional lifting of up to 25lb (e.g. portable testing equipment).
Vision Clear distance near and adjustable focus vision required for reading plans labels and inspecting detailed components.
Environmental Exposure Daily exposure to temperature extremes (heated/cooled datacenter interiors outdoor conditions) dust and occasional noise from mechanical equipment.
