TITLE:

Building Engineer I


REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

Chief Engineer


BASIC FUNCTIONS:

Perform ongoing monitoring preventive maintenance and repair of building equipment and systems and respond to building occupant service requests. Prepare event set up for on-site meetings and special events.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ensure building facilities are adequately set up on-site meetings and special events in accordance with meeting specifications. Collaborate with Meetings staff to determine setup needs turnarounds required and related timing for each event.
  2. Serve as primary engineer for on-site weekend meetings and events.
  3. Complete on-demand building occupant service requests as assigned.
  4. Maintain mechanical and equipment rooms in a clean and orderly condition.
  5. Operate HVAC systems efficiently ensuring a comfortable environment for building occupants.
  6. Assist with constructing and reconfiguring workstations and other furniture.
  7. Monitor building equipment settings and readings utilizing the building automation system recording events if needed.
  8. Maintain the Engineering Logbook with entries of all work completed.
  9. Assist with maintaining security access control system.
  10. Support housekeeping services as required.
  11. Assist with Emergency Response Team initiatives as needed.
  12. Perform all other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent. Some formal training in operation of mechanical equipment preferred.


EXPERIENCE:

Three to six months related facility management experience required.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

Must pay close attention to detail take initiative be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously work both independently and as part of a team and promote and maintain a positive and cooperative team-oriented work environment with a commitment to fostering a culture where everyone feels valued and respected. Excellent communication and customer service skills essential as well as a strong mechanical aptitude with the ability and willingness to advance this knowledge through ongoing training. Must be able to lift/carry/move up to 50 lbs. work in a bending or kneeling position and within tight spaces climb stairs and ladders work outside in varying weather conditions and withstand hot and cold temperatures. Some overtime required as well as flexibility to work weekends holidays and evenings as scheduled or in response to an emergency.

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $30.69/hr - $32.40/hr.Compensation decisions take into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant experience skills certifications geographic location business needs and organizational addition to those factors we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
