Broadcast Systems Technician

WMUR the ABC affiliate in Manchester NH has an opening for a Broadcast Systems Technician. This role is responsible for maintaining and supporting both broadcast and IT systems that keep our stations on the air and operating at a high level. This position is ideal for someone with a strong technical foundation who enjoys troubleshooting learning new systems and working in a collaborative team-oriented environment.

You will work across a wide range of technologies including networking servers broadcast equipment and live production systems. This position reports to the Engineering Director.

Responsibilities

• Maintain troubleshoot and repair broadcast and IT systems to ensure reliable daily operations
• Execute and improve preventative maintenance programs
• Provide technical support to News Production Creative Services Sales and Administration
• Support live broadcasts and remote productions including setup and troubleshooting
• Install configure and maintain networking equipment servers and workstations
• Travel as needed to transmitter sites remote locations and live event venues
• Document systems workflows and technical procedures
• Collaborate closely with engineering and IT team members to support station operations and new technology deployments

Requirements

• This role participates in a structured rotating schedule that may include early mornings evenings and weekends. The rotation is designed to provide balanced coverage while ensuring exposure to all aspects of station operations.

• Experience with managed network switches and IP-based systems.

• Supporting servers workstations and network infrastructure

• Familiarity with broadcast equipment and production environments
• Understanding of TCP/IP networking VPNs and LAN environments
• Experience with Windows desktop and server operating systems
• Cisco VMware Microsoft or similar certifications
• SBE certification
• Military or technical training background
