Boiler Operator (Crew D) Grand Forks, ND

This position is responsible for maintenance and operation of all boiler room equipment and for the unloading and transfer of cooking oils.

• Ensures there is no injury to self or others by following safe work practices (including Standard Operating Procedures) and policies.
• Food Safety is everyones responsibility.
• Attend and participate in all training activities for the position. Ensure the acquired skills and knowledge are applied.
• Ensures sanitation of equipment and housekeeping of the entire facility.
• Ensures self-compliance with Company policies Standard Operating Procedures and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
• Must be a team player and help to meet operational goals.
• Conducts oneself in a professional manner and ensures that personal appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job functions while representing the Company.
• Performs all such other duties as may be reasonably assigned by Manager.
• Ensures the operation of the boiler system is conducted efficiently and safely in cooperation with the maintenance team leader process team leader and packaging team leader to achieve operational goals.
• Ensures the efficient operation of all equipment including cooking oil pumps in the Boiler area by using preventative maintenance troubleshooting boiler chemical test overhauling and repairing equipment to achieve operational goals under the supervision of the Boiler/Refrigeration supervisor.
• Ensures the accuracy of data reporting systems such as boiler logs boiler water chemical reports and rail car documents.
• Performs Acetylene cutting and heating in a safe and correct manner when repairing and fabricating equipment.
• Ensures that work orders are completed as assigned.
• Maintains work area in a clean and functional condition.
• Responsible for unloading cooking oil and its distribution to the plant processing lines and unloading of fuel oil into storage tanks keepingproduction and purchasing departments informed of shortages or impending problems.

• Successfully complete the Job Skill Evaluation and Structured Job Training Program within the designated timeframe.
• Demonstrate basic math skills including addition subtraction multiplication division and percentage calculations.
• Read write and communicate effectively in English.
• Possess basic computer proficiency including data entry and navigating multiple software applications.
• Work independently with minimal supervision and effectively identify and report workplace hazards.
• Maintain acceptable attendance and safety records.
• Perform effectively in fast-paced and stressful work environments.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Work in varying environmental conditions including hot cold humid and slippery environments.

Shift: 7pm - 7am Pitman Shift Style

Wage: $31.83 p/hr Nights Differential
