• Read work orders to determine setup specifications and instructions.
• Set-up automatic cutting programs manually into cutter machine.
• Examine folded stitched collated bound and unbound product samples for defects such as imperfect folding bindings toner streaks torn or loose pages.
• Start assorted bindery machines and make trial runs to verify accuracy of machine setups before running jobs. Trouble shoot machine problems as it pertains to equipment and set up.
• Set up and operate machines that perform operations such as cutting folding scoring/creasing padding drilling hand punch for coil binding laminating perfect binding saddle stitching booklet making etc.
• Observe and monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and to determine whether adjustments are needed.
• Install and adjust bindery machine devices such as knives guides rollers etc. to accommodate sheets signatures or books of specified sizes.
• Maintain records of daily production using computer and specified forms.
• Lubricate and clean machine parts and make minor repairs to keep machines in working condition.
• Performs other related duties as required.
  

• 2 -5 years of experience setting up and operating bindery and finishing equipment in medium to large print shops with high job count and tight deadlines.
• Attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Good mathematical skills.
• Reliable attendance punctuality and attention to workstations.
