Bindery Operator – Post Press Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Bindery Operator specializing in post-press functions to join our contract team in Des Plaines IL.

The Bindery Operator will perform routine manual and automated post-press tasks including operating bindery equipment and basic computer systems to complete job orders accurately and efficiently. This role requires attention to detail and adherence to quality standards.

• PAY RATE: $20.00 hour

Responsibilities

• Set up bindery equipment and prepare materials for production.
• Monitor equipment and stock supplies to maintain continuous operation.
• Check incoming shipments stamp and proofread customer orders and generate labels.
• Operate bindery and post-press equipment to meet job specifications for accuracy ink coverage quantity and labeling.
• Follow company policies and procedures to ensure smooth production flow.
• Use powered hand trucks for moving materials as needed.
• Inspect finished products to confirm they meet order specifications and properly manifest orders.
• Perform labeling sorting engraving special orders loading trucks and ensure compliance with postal and delivery standards.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years or older and eligible to work in the USA.
• Minimum 1 year manufacturing experience.
• Experience with printing processes and operations.
• Knowledge of Lean principles.
• Basic math and reading skills.
• Experience operating powered hand trucks.
• Experience in equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
