Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a BIM Specialist to join our team in the Atlanta GA area. This position will support the development coordination and management of Building Information Modeling (BIM) deliverables for water and wastewater projects. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with BIM software and standards coordinating design information and supporting project teams to ensure models and documentation are accurate organized and delivered on schedule.
- Works under limited supervision with the ability to exercise independent judgment on technical matters
- Provides training and technical support to design staff on the Building Information Modeling system which provides 3D models using project specifications and content
- Delivers direct project support and production to assigned projects and creates drawings as required using the standards and content to meet job requirements (objects within the model pumps pipes systems etc.)
- Performs complex Revit or CADD assignments and coordinates Revit or CADD drawing production in support of the CADD manager
- Digitizes or traces sketches or concepts from designers using CADD software such as Revit AutoCAD or MicroStation
- Makes decisions with general understanding of procedures company policies and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines
- Understands the implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions to improve project outcomes
- Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and establishes best practices for BIM workflows
- Leads less experienced drafters and provides mentorship on technical skills and project standards
- Trains others in design software and BIM protocols as needed to support team development
- Acts as lead CAD coordinator on assigned projects ensuring consistency and compliance with BIM standards
- Performs quality assurance and validation checks on BIM models to ensure accuracy completeness and adherence to project specifications
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams to coordinate model information and resolve conflicts between disciplines
- Maintains and updates BIM documentation standards and content libraries to support current and future project requirements
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS degree plus 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education
- Due to the projects associated with this position US Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using Revit and AutoCAD in a professional engineering or design environment.
- Hands-on experience developing and coordinating process mechanical piping systems in Revit.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting water and wastewater projects.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams on complex infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of BIM coordination modeling standards and construction documentation.
