Job Summary

The Center for Early Learning Professionalshas an opening for a Bilingual Training & TechnicalAssistanceAssociate II reporting to the Technical Assistance Manager in Warwick Rhode Island. This is a hybrid role that requires a combination of time in office and daily site visits throughout Rhode Island. While there are opportunities for this position to complete some tasks remotely the position requires on-site presence to meet contract deliverables. 

TheCenter for Early Learning Professionalsis operated by Education Development Center (EDC). EDC has extensive experience supporting the work of early childhood professionals in Rhode Island. Our staff has deep knowledge and expertise in early learning and development early childhood program management technical assistance and adult learning. We are former child care and public school preschool teachers early intervention specialists program administrators and adult addition to our regular staff the Center is supported by a pool of highly experienced subject matter experts who have long worked with Rhode Islands early learning programs. You Will: 

  • Provides targeted coaching services program consultation and professional development (PD) in family child care and center-based licensed programs related to program administration systems of staff support early childhood social emotional best practices and early childhood curriculum and assessment 
  • Possesses research skills to identify foundational research related to topics and appropriate citations 
  • Applies knowledge on early childhood social emotional development and health equity fields to research and PD development assignments. 
  • Participate in the development of training materials and resources specific to early childhood development infant mental health and trauma informed care administrative practices and leadership 
  • Expands contacts and strengthens client relations 
  • Leading facilitation of adult learning and web-based learning

Qualifications :

This position requires educational achievement; excellent writing skills; demonstrable initiative creativity and flexibility; ability to work independently and effectively in groups; and strong interpersonal & organizational skills. 

Education

  • Bachelors degree in early childhood education or child development special education with 7-10 years of related experience including mentoring staff coaching and program administration and PK-2 Teacher Certification or equivalent combination of training and education in a related field 
  • Masters degree with 5 8 years related experience (as above)

Other skills/experience

  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) 
  • Strong multimedia technology skills 
  • Ability to work independently while adhering to performance expectations 
  • Knowledge and experience working with RI systems such as RI BrightStars Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) Professional Standards and Competencies RI Department of Human Services Child Care Licensing Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standard sand other childcare agencies/systems as applicable. 
  • Demonstrated experience applying social emotional development context into research and PD development assignments. 
  • Prior project leadership or supervisory experience 

Travel

  • Ability to travel to sites throughout RI on a daily basis

The starting full-time base salary range for this position is $70000 - $85000.
