Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and employee-focused Benefits Specialist to manage and support the administration of employee benefits programs. This position will serve as a key resource for employees and management ensuring benefits are administered accurately efficiently and in compliance with applicable regulations.

Compensation for this position is $55000$75000 per year depending on experience benefits administration expertise certifications and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer employee benefits programs including medical dental vision life insurance disability retirement and other company-sponsored benefits.
  • Assist employees with benefit enrollment eligibility qualifying life events and benefit-related questions.
  • Manage new-hire benefits enrollment and employee changes ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Coordinate annual open enrollment activities communications materials and employee education.
  • Maintain accurate employee benefits records and HRIS information.
  • Work closely with insurance carriers brokers vendors and payroll to resolve benefits issues.
  • Review benefit invoices and assist with reconciliation and discrepancy resolution.
  • Monitor employee eligibility and ensure benefits changes are processed correctly.
  • Support compliance with applicable benefits laws and regulations.
  • Prepare benefits reports audits and documentation for HR leadership.
  • Assist with leave disability and other benefit-related processes when applicable.
  • Protect confidential employee and benefits information.
  • Respond to employee inquiries professionally and within established service standards.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve benefits processes employee communications and overall benefits administration.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in benefits administration HR payroll or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of employee benefits and enrollment processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with benefits administration platforms and HRIS systems.
  • Knowledge of COBRA HIPAA FMLA ERISA ACA and other applicable regulations.
  • Experience coordinating open enrollment.
  • Benefits-related certification such as CEBS PHR or SHRM certification is a plus.
  • Experience working with benefits brokers insurance carriers and third-party administrators.
