BENEFITS REPRESENTATIVE 2 Human Resources counsels MIT faculty staff retirees beneficiaries and vested terminated employees on various HR and benefit inquiries related to plan eligibility plan provisions and options and enrollment and change processes. Will respond to inquiries regarding MITs benefits plans requiring an in-depth understanding of benefits policies and procedures inquiries may be complex and require additional research. Processes benefit plan enrollments changes qualified status changes and cancellations of active employee health dental vision life and FSA benefits; and drives process efficiency across Benefits by creating department process documentation and workflow charts (if applicable) and recommends fixes to processes where applicable.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent; a minimum of five years of HR Benefits/HR Benefits customer service or HR Benefits data reporting/analytics experience; excellent problem solving organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to prioritize competing demands and follow through on tasks despite constant interruptions; excellent customer interfacing skills and the ability to consult with customers and Stakeholders work effectively with clients in person by telephone and by email apply critical thinking skills to projects and tasks; ability to present complex employee issues after conducting thorough research and analysis; and proficiency in applicable software e.g. Microsoft Office and web applications. PREFERRED: Ability to learn Human Resources information systems and knowledge of SAP.
