Position supports the Leave of Absence department (LOA) with administering and assisting employees through the medical FMLA and military leave process. Duties include answering calls to the departments phone line entering information into SAP helping employees return to work completing employer verifications for supplemental insurance and state paid leave programs.
Prepares audits and reconciles group insurance records for life medical disability vision workers compensation and similar employee benefit programs. Communicates and explains to employees information related to a variety of benefits programs (e.g. insurance plans pensions stock/thrift incentive plans sick leave). Assists employees in completion of forms and provides general response to benefit inquiries. Prepares reports and statistical information regarding programs. May calculate benefits due and issues drafts for payments on self-administered or insured plans. Prepares communication to physicians hospitals and employees regarding claims.
Strong communication and customer service skills attention to detail and ability to multitask and work in a high volume fast paced environment. MS Office products (outlook word excel) experience required. Prior experience in benefits FMLA or military leave programs preferred.
