Job Summary
(9) 6.0 hour positions at various school sites. Sites:TBD
High School Diploma or GED equivalency required. Must possess one of the following: a) 48 semester units from an accredited college or university; or b) an Associates degree or higher; or c) passage of a district assessment. Minimum of 15 hours Behavioral Training acquired within six months of hire date into the Special Education Behavior Technician job classification. Topics include principles of behavior applied behavior analysis reinforcement fading contingencies data collection and behavior intervention. Two years experience working with students with special needs who have behavioral and/or self-regulation and/or mental health challenges. Continual Professional Development as needed.
Under the supervision of the site administrator the Special Education Behavior Technician will assist tutor and reinforce instruction to students who present with behavioral self-regulation and/or mental health needs. The Special Education Behavior Technician may also provide additional adult assistance to students with significant behavioral mental health and/or self-regulation difficulties. The Special Education Behavior Technician will assist with the direct implementation of skill-acquisition and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPS) developed by the School Psychologist or the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and the IEP team. Additionally the Special Education Behavior Technician will assist with the implementation of Special Education Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) and Special Education programming.
