Job Summary
Job Summary

The Behavior Intervention Specialist reports to the Director of Special Education. The BIS works in cooperation with Special Education and General Education teams at the school sites and/or District; participates in the development of a coordinated positive behavior intervention program; consults with school principals and staff concerning appropriate learning strategies and positive behavior interventions in order to support students to access instruction and to make educational progress in the least restrictive environment.

Requirements / Qualifications

The qualified candidate will possess Education and Experience: Any combination of training education and experience which demonstrates possession of the knowledge and abilities stated above and the ability to perform the duties of the position. Education: Required Bachelors and Masters degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a related fieldExperience: Experience working in a K-12 educational setting within the specialized field of Applied Behavior Analysis with increasing levels of responsibilityLicenses Certifications or Other Requirements: *Valid California Class C drivers license*Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification (BCBA) - preferred or Current Pupil Personnel Services Credential (PPS)*Experience/Training in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention preferred*ABA or similar research-based experience and training*Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
