The BMS team spans across all battery-based Apple products and is looking for engineers with multi-disciplinary technology experience with strong leadership skills.

The architecture group within the Battery Management System (BMS) organization is a critical and collaborative team that bridges across all cross functional teams to understand product needs to translate them into requirements for the BMS domain teams. The engagement spans across short term objectives for upcoming products as well as collaborating with the entire team to establish and pursue the long term BMS roadmap covering hardware firmware and algorithms.

Work with cross functional teams to establish BMS goals and requirementsnEnable successful delivery of BMS systems for new Apple products nLead the definition of next generation of BMS silicon chipsetsnGuide the BMS domain teams in developing efficient and scalable solutionsnEngage with multi-disciplinary architects to align on next generation objectives and BMS roadmapnLead the team to develop an architecture decomposition with justified trade-offs between technology optionsnTackle challenging trade-offs and analyze comparative options with quantitative value proposition assessments nThis role involves minimal travel. u003c 5% travel

BS in a battery systems or related architecture developing battery management solutions using embedded controllers.

MS degree and 10 years of relevant industry with customer interfacing engagement to understand their system requirements and problems to define a system level in collaborative environments with multiple internal and external technology developing engineering requirement specification for BMS systems and the functional decomposition into BMS HW FW SW IC working with silicon teams to drive BMS hardware requirements/specifications architecture/feature trade-offs and design with battery management algorithms and their interaction with HW FW application platform systems and manufacturing with detailed workings of different battery chemistries and their limitations.
