MalaceHR is seeking an experienced Building Automation Systems (BAS) Technician to support a regulated laboratory/vivarium environment within an industrial and commercial facility setting. This role is responsible for monitoring troubleshooting maintaining and optimizing building automation systems to ensure reliable facility operations and environmental control.
The ideal candidate will have extensive BAS and HVAC experience strong troubleshooting capabilities and hands-on experience supporting mission-critical building systems in commercial or industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities
Building Automation System Operations
Monitor and operate Building Automation Systems (BAS) to ensure efficient facility performance
Troubleshoot BAS alarms system faults and operational irregularities
Adjust building systems and controls to maintain optimal environmental conditions
Run system trends analyze BAS data and generate operational reports
Monitor HVAC system performance and coordinate corrective actions as needed
Troubleshooting & Field Support
Respond to BAS-related service issues and perform field troubleshooting of HVAC and automation systems
Diagnose and resolve issues involving:
HVAC equipment
Sensors and controllers
Electrical components
BAS communication networks
Support troubleshooting efforts within regulated laboratory/vivarium environments
Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to resolve operational concerns
System Maintenance & Documentation
Maintain accurate records of system updates maintenance activities and repairs
Support preventive maintenance activities related to BAS and HVAC systems
Assist with system optimization and control strategy improvements
Ensure building systems operate in compliance with facility requirements and standards
Qualifications
10 years of BAS and HVAC experience in commercial or industrial environments
Experience working within regulated laboratory or vivarium environments preferred
Niagara 4 (N4) Certification required
Experience with BACnet protocols required
Familiarity with Siemens building automation hardware preferred
Experience with Niagara platforms required
TEC (Terminal Equipment Controller) experience is a plus
Strong understanding of:
Industrial HVAC systems
Electrical systems
Plumbing systems
Building controls
Ability to run trends analyze BAS data and generate reports
Excellent troubleshooting technical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and documentation abilities
