Job Description:
This role supports the clients commercial AV integration team by installing commissioning and troubleshooting audio-visual systems across corporate education and institutional environments throughout the Charlotte region and beyond.
Job Summary
Install AV infrastructure including J-hooks UniStrut cable cubbies floor boxes and structured cabling (Cat5e/6 HDMI DVI speaker wire and related)
Mount and rig AV equipment such as projectors projection screens displays ceiling microphones cameras and rack-mounted components
Interpret and cross-reference schematics architectural drawings and scopes of work to guide accurate installations
Commission and test AV systems including control systems DSP devices and video conferencing platforms
Communicate professionally with clients general contractors and on-site partners throughout project lifecycle
Complete daily field reports track project progress and coordinate with project managers to maintain schedules
Travel to client sites (corporate offices higher education K-12 and houses of worship) primarily Monday through Friday with same-week return expected
Minimum Requirements:
*Level 1 Technician*
1 year of hands-on AV installation experience structured cabling IT support or closely related field
Ability to terminate Cat5/Cat6 cables and demonstrate basic signal flow understanding
Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
Ability to climb ladders up to 35 feet and lift/load equipment up to 75 pounds
Ability to pass a drug screening and background check
*Level 2 Lead Technician*
3 years of AV installation experience with demonstrated ability to lead a project team start to finish
Proficiency with structured cabling rack building signal termination system calibration and system testing
Working knowledge of major AV manufacturers including Crestron QSC Biamp Shure Poly Logitech and Neat
Ability to read and apply CAD drawings blueprints and architectural plans
Knowledge of videoconferencing platforms (Poly Cisco Microsoft Teams)
Valid drivers license with a clean driving record; ability to travel up to 60%
*Project Engineer*
5 years of AV installation experience with senior-level commissioning capability across multi-manufacturer systems
Experience with Digital Control Systems DSP and IP-enabled device integration (Crestron Biamp Extron or similar)
Ability to upload control code perform break-fix troubleshooting and deliver end-user training alongside a remote programmer
Strong verbal and written communication skills; experience liaising with project managers general contractors and clients
Valid drivers license with a clean driving record; ability to travel up to 60%
Preferred Qualifications:
InfoComm CTS CTS-I or CTS-D certification
Additional industry certifications such as DMC-E DMC-T SMART RCDD or equivalent
Familiarity with Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting
Experience in structured cabling environments as a foundation for AV installation work
Background in corporate higher education or institutional AV environments
