You will
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of the Waabi class 8 autonomous trucking fleet to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with vehicle mechanical systems electrical. components sensors and other vehicle systems
- Perform repairs and replacements of faulty components or systems adhering to Waabi developed work instructions manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with all teams to provide feedback on technical issues contribute to continuous improvement efforts and assist in the development of new features or upgrades.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities repairs and parts inventory.
- Provide technical support to truck operators on vehicle systems operation procedures and troubleshooting techniques.
- Stay updated on industry trends advancements in technology and regulatory requirements related to autonomous and Class 8 vehicles.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards regulations and company policies.
- Support Waabis safety culture.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in automotive technology electrical engineering or related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a technician or mechanic preferably in the automotive heavy-duty trucking or technology industry. ASE certifications are highly desirable.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with truck maintenance and repair.
- Familiarity with autonomous driving technology including sensors cameras GPS and onboard computer systems is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools software and equipment for vehicle maintenance and repair.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends and travel as needed.
- Commitment to safety attention to detail and adherence to protocols and procedures.
- Open-minded and collaborative team player with the willingness to help others.
- Passionate about self-driving technologies solving hard problems and creating innovative solutions.
Shift Hours:
- Current shift hours are 11am to 7pm and subject to change to support business needs.
