Audiology Assistant

Nemours is seeking an Audiologist Assistant in Pensacola FL

The position of Audiology Assistant serves as an important liaison between the audiology manager staff audiologists patient/families and other care team members. Provides support services to the staff audiologists at Nemours Childrens Specialty Care as well as facilitate scheduling andcoordinating hearing evaluations cochlear implant evaluations hearing aid fittings and special tests such as Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) evaluations. The audiology assistant will also help coordinate patient flow reviewing patient charts for current information and obtaining information that is critical for the visit.

Essential Functions

1. Schedules/cancels/reschedules and confirm patient appointments with courtesy providing assistance and information as needed. Manage in basket messages from patients and Nemours staff.
2. Schedules for all devices (hearing aid and/or bone anchored) patients for appropriate appointments.
3. Submit authorization request and orders or hearing aid and bone-anchored hearing device equipment. Prepares PO requests and checks equipment once received.
4. Works closely with CI coordinator to manage patient appointments paperwork and equipment needs.
5. Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms between each appointment and at end of the day. Requests a deep cleaning by housekeeping as needed.
6. Checks audiology clinic organization weekly stocks necessary clinic supplies in rooms checks hand sanitizer dispensers and reports the need to have them filled. Orders clinic supplies as needed.
7. Provides administrative support for all audiologists maintains all schedules for the audiologist scan documents to HIM to upload into the patients charts as needed.
