Job Summary

Position Summary
The AV Technician III performs a variety of complex tasks related to the design procurement preparation installation maintenance operation and high-level operational support of AV equipment and related computer hardware and software used across the College.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Interacts with clients to guide them in understanding and using classroom technology. Provides AV equipment evaluation selection purchase programming and maintenance. Participates in the planning design and execution of new learning/multimedia enhanced spaces equipment purchases and requests for proposals from vendors. Utilizes project management tools to create and maintain AV technology documentation. Provides support for campus events including large venue sound lighting video recording and streaming. Attends training and industry events to maintain and upgrade skills and professional development. Participates in departmental meetings and projects as part of the IT/AV staff. Stay knowledgeable concerning emerging trends in the area of instructional/administrative technology and when appropriate make recommendations for improvement to management. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to: sit walk stand use hands to handle A/V equipment operate computers talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to: reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to: stoop climb lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus.

Required Qualifications
High School diploma required. Must have a minimum of six years of directly related experience and a high school diploma is required or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be familiar with web and video conferencing and video streaming. Highly skilled at explaining technical subjects to non-technical and technical customers. Maintains an awareness of state-of-the-art concepts practices and technologies and applies this awareness to his/her work. Must display excellent administrative organizational and time management skills while operating in a fast-paced environment. Must possess a strong work ethic and ready to work extremely hard executing strategic plans. Self-motivated positive attitude mature personality and being oriented are also necessary for success in this position.
