Overview

Scope of Position

As a Valet attendant you are a first and last impression for our guests. Your role is to deliver exceptional service while safely and efficiently parking guest vehicles. This position reports to the Director of Guest Services.

Schedule Requirements

The operations of Seaport are 24 hours a day 7 days a week inclusive of all holidays. Therefore your schedule must be flexible to meet the needs of the business accordingly.

Due to the cyclical nature of hospitality flexibility is required to meet business needs. Participation in all hands events may be necessary.

The hotel operates 24/7 including holidays. The company strives to support work-life balance.

Responsibilities
  • Greet arriving and departing guests with courtesy and professionalism
  • Follow all established valet procedures open vehicle doors provide valet tickets identify the guest document existing damage maintain an accurate log of vehicles
  • Safely operate park and retrieve guest vehicles in a timely manner
  • Assist guests with luggage directions etc. as needed
  • Always adhere to safe and lawful driving practices prioritizing guests pedestrian and vehicle safety
  • Accurately and securely store guest keys and return at the time of departure
  • Consistently deliver a level of service that exceeds expectations
  • Be knowledgeable about Seaport District shopping dining and general points of interest
  • Represent the hotel with a positive attitude and professional attire
  • Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to Seaports sustainability programs
  • Carry out any other duties which fall within the broad spirit scope and purpose of this job description and which are commensurate with the role
  • Responsible for practicing managing and promoting our Mission Purpose and Values so that it becomes an intricate part of the everyday operation.

Required Job Knowledge and Skills

  • Valid Drivers License and Clean Driving Record
  • Operate a wide variety of vehicles (standard transmission electric luxury / high-end / performance / specialty)
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time intermittent jogging/running

Supportive Functions

  • In addition to the performance of the essential functions this position may be required to perform a combination of supportive functions with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the Director of Guest Services based upon the requirements of the hotel.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with hotel standards.
  • Adhere to hotel rules and regulations for safe and efficient operations.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Previous valet experience preferred preferably in an Upscale or Luxury property

Education:

  • High School diploma general education degree or international equivalent preferred.

Language Skills:

  • Fluency of the English language is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to understand and compose instructions memos and short correspondence.

The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

  • Lifting & Strength: Must have upper body strength to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the shift. Requires finger hand and upper body dexterity to push pull and move levers equipment and furniture. Must be able to work with arms raised above head for extended periods.
  • Carrying & Moving: Regularly carrying lifting or pulling items weighing up to 50 lbs.
