Job Summary

Title:Athletics Operations Assistant

Position Purpose:

The Athletic Operations Assistant will be responsible for providing operational assistance to the athletic department and athletic and recreation events and programs. This will include athletic facility scheduling working with outside groups on rental processes assisting with game day event management supervising student workers and assisting the Associate Athletic Director with the operational needs of the athletic complex.

Job Duties:

  • Assist with game day operations including running the scoreboard game clock game flow/sideline management announcing music working with visiting teams and officials and other duties as assigned.
  • Assist with set-up/break down/changeover of athletic contests.
  • Attend and manage home athletic events for supported teams as assigned.
  • Assist with crowd management customer service enforcement of guidelines and procedures.
  • Serve as point-of-contact for assigned rentals camps clinics and other events.
  • Complete operational related projects and tasks to support departmental initiatives.
  • Complete office work including research mailings data entry filing and other clerical tasks.
  • Assist with preventive routine and deferred maintenance of athletic facilities and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • At least one year experience in a professional capacity of an athletic and/or recreation-oriented program preferred.

Experience

  • At least one year experience in a professional capacity of an athletic and/or recreation-oriented program.
  • Event management experience in collegiate athletics or professional sports preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in athletic facility management preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in hiring and training student employees preferred.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and train others.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate resources and staff within the college community.

Hiring Range:The hiring range for this position is $17.00 to $21.25. Placement within the range depends on experience and other factors.
